Community Guidelines

The 1912 Society is Card Nation’s home. We’re here to talk ball, celebrate the Cards, and argue about the depth chart — as fans, not enemies. These Community Guidelines are part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service; violating them is a violation of the Terms. They apply everywhere on the Service — boards, chat, profiles, games, and interactions with Louie.

The House Rules

The short version — the vibe we run on. The detailed policy follows below.

1. Respect others. Treat everyone with kindness. No harassment, personal attacks, slurs, or hate speech. Heated sports debates are welcome — toxicity is not.
2. Keep it on topic. Cards sports and college athletics in the right boards. Recruiting talk is welcome — keep it factual and civil.
3. No spam or self-promotion. No flooding, no unsolicited ads. Sharing Louisville news, podcasts, and content in the right place is encouraged.
4. Use the right board. Gameday, recruiting, memes, and general talk all have their place.
5. Keep it safe for work. No explicit or NSFW content. This community is for Cards fans of all ages.
6. Don’t abuse the bots or games. Don’t try to exploit Louie, the economy, or pick’em/predictions.
7. Follow the Terms. No piracy, doxxing, threats, or illegal content.
8. Mod decisions are final. Respect the mods. Got an issue? Report it in-app — don’t argue it in public.
9. No politics. Left, right, or center — keep the focus on sports, not political opinions.
10. No premium-board content. Don’t paste or screenshot paywalled content from 247, On3, Rivals, etc. Summarize in your own words instead.
11. Insider content stays inside. Sharing, screenshotting, or reposting Insider-board content outside the app violates your membership and is grounds for termination. Insider content is traceable to the account it was served to.
12. Don’t be that person. Bring the energy you’d bring to the Yum! Center — passionate, not problematic.

Bring the Card spirit

• Rep the Cards loud and proud. Passion is welcome — even the hot takes.
• Debate the game, not the person. Go at a take without going at a member.
• Welcome new members. Everybody was new to the board once.
• Keep it constructive, stay on topic, and give people the benefit of the doubt.
• Report problems instead of retaliating, and let the moderators handle it.

What’s not allowed

The following are prohibited. This list gives examples and is not exhaustive.

• Harassment & bullying — targeting, threatening, intimidating, stalking, or piling on a member; encouraging others to do so.
• Hate — slurs or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar characteristics.
• Threats & violence — threats of violence, incitement, or glorification of violence or self-harm.
• Doxxing & privacy — posting anyone’s private or personal information without consent.
• Sexual content — pornographic or sexually explicit material, or unwanted sexual advances.
• Minor safety — any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors. This is never tolerated and is reported to authorities as required by law.
• Spam & scams — flooding, repeat self-promotion, unsolicited ads, phishing, fraud, or deceptive schemes.
• Illegal content — anything unlawful or that facilitates illegal activity.
• Cheating & manipulation — fake or multiple accounts, coin manipulation, and rigging or exploiting pick’em, predictions, trivia, games, or leaderboards.
• Impersonation — pretending to be another person, a member, staff, or an organization.
• Intellectual-property infringement — posting content you don’t have the right to share (see the DMCA process in the Terms).
• Platform abuse — scraping, bots, hacking, or interfering with the Service or others’ use of it.

Reporting

See something out of line? Use the in-app report tools on a post or message. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and posts that draw multiple reports are hidden automatically pending review. For copyright complaints, use the DMCA process in the Terms of Service.

How enforcement works

We generally use a graduated enforcement ladder, matching the response to the severity and history of the conduct:

• 1. Warning — content removal and a notice explaining what crossed the line.
• 2. Mute or temporary restriction — a limited-time restriction on posting, chatting, or certain features.
• 3. Suspension — a temporary loss of access to some or all of the Service.
• 4. Permanent ban — removal from the community and closure of the Account.

Moderator discretion. We may skip steps and act immediately — including an immediate ban and forfeiture of any 1912 Coins — for severe violations (such as threats, minor-safety violations, doxxing, or repeated abuse) or to protect the community. Enforcement decisions, including removal of content and adjustment or removal of 1912 Coins and standings obtained through cheating, are at our reasonable discretion.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, you may appeal by contacting us at the1912society@gmail.com within a reasonable time. We will review appeals in good faith. Our decision on appeal is final.
